Most change doesn't stall on strategy. It stalls on people.
Organisations pour energy into the plans, the systems, the governance and the communications. Then the change slows anyway, and it's tempting to read that as resistance or poor execution.
What's usually happening underneath is something we call behavioural friction. People aren't responding to the technical elements of the change. They're responding to perceived uncertainty, loss of control, emotional load, competing priorities and a pathway forward that isn't clear yet.
Left unaddressed, that friction shows up as slower decisions, change fatigue, quiet disengagement and transformation that keeps slipping. CALM is how we help leaders work with it, rather than push against it.
WHAT WE SEE
Four things leaders are often told about change that don't quite hold up.
Communication isn't the same as clarity.
Saying something more often doesn't make it land. Clarity is about what people actually know: what's stable, what's still unknown, and what happens next.

Change fatigue is usually a load problem.
When people look disengaged, they're often just carrying too much. That's a question of capacity, not attitude.

Resistance is often information.
When people push back, they're usually showing you where the friction sits. It's worth reading as data before it's read as defiance.

Awareness on its own changes nothing.
Insight feels like progress, but nothing really shifts until there's movement people can see.

SELECTED WORK
Our Clients Stories of Success with Us
An 800-person multinational engineering firm, operating across seven countries and eleven time zones, set out to build one consistent leadership culture. More than 200 leaders moved through three tiered programs over two years. The capability stuck: program alumni still return for coaching years after it ended.
Leadership Culture at Global Scale
Multinational Engineering Firm
A Queensland state government department needed to build leadership capability consistently across a workforce spread the length of the state. Delivered virtually for equitable access and refined cohort after cohort, the program became a trusted fixture that participants described as practical, relevant and genuinely useful in their roles.
Statewide Leadership in the Public Sector
State Government Department
A large Australian manufacturing group with thousands of people across dozens of sites, recognised that technical excellence alone wouldn't carry its next phase of growth. Over seven months we developed its key people to lead and influence through others, blending workshops, coaching and real workplace application. Their Chief People Officer put it plainly: the program challenged leaders not just to know, but to act, and line managers saw the shift first-hand.
Turning Technical Experts Into Leaders
Large-Scale Manufacturing
A national not-for-profit in the NDIS sector wanted to lift capability and consistency across its team leaders. A tailored series on feedback and service excellence moved people from "what I know" to "what I choose to act on." 93% of participants recommended it to others.

A Council engaged us on a large infrastructure project, knowing the delivery risk was as human as it was technical. Working alongside the alliance leadership team through pre-award, design and delivery, we helped them reduce miscommunication, sharpen role clarity and hold to "best for project" behaviours under real pressure.
The Human Side of a Major Infrastructure Project
Local Government
A national engineering and construction provider brought 100 leaders together under a single theme: "Don't Walk Past It." Across a series of interactive workshops, construction managers, supervisors, engineers and HSE leaders built a shared standard for accountability and the confidence to hold the conversations that standard demands.
Building a Culture of Accountability
National Engineering & Construction
An entire customer-facing branch of team leaders, needed to lead well under constant pressure and change. A focused resilience program gave them practical tools to steady themselves and their teams, with leaders reporting stronger adaptability and clearer priorities.
Capability at the Frontline
Local Government
A senior executive at a global business was navigating a genuinely difficult period inside the leadership team. Brought in as a trusted, objective third party, we created a space that was safe but still accountable. The leader came through with improved wellbeing, sharper clarity and renewed control, and the CEO reported being "very satisfied" that the outcomes exceeded expectations.
Coaching a Leader Through Real Pressure
Multinational Engineering Firm
A local government executive team wanted to lead more cohesively through a period of real change. Across a two-year partnership of workshops, coaching and team development, we flexed as the team's make-up shifted, onboarding new leaders without losing momentum. The result was a more connected, resilient group with clearer communication and stronger alignment.
Building a High-Performing Executive Team
